Parks & Recreation in Kerrville

Kerrville-Schreiner Park
Located on the Guadalupe River, this 500 acre park offers swimming, fishing and boating. Campsites, picnic tables and rest rooms with showers. Reservations recommended for campsites. Open year-round 8am-10pm for day use. Entrance fee per person $3.00 daily. Screened shelters and RV campsites available for additional fees.  2385 Bandera Hwy.  Email: kerrpark@kerrville.org . H.E.Butt Municipal Tennis Center
Fourteen l ighted courts open to the public. Pro Shop, lessons available. Monday -Thursday 8:30am-9pm, Friday & Saturday 8:30am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm. Entrance off Sidney Baker. 830-896-7955

 Scott Schreiner Golf Course
An 18 hole course nestled among rolling hills. Pro-shop, electric golf carts, putting greens, showers and lockers. Tee times 7 days in advance. Year round, Tues-Sun, from 7am until dark. Country Club Road at Sidney Baker. 830-257-4982.

Bill's Golfland
Llocated on Spur 100, off Hwy 27E, is a public practice facility with night lighting, automatic and grass tees, target green, chipping and putting greens, sand bunkers and a pro-shop. Area's only par-3 golf course. Individual or group instruction by appointment. Mon-Fri, 9am-9pm; Sat, 9am-9pm; Sun, 1-6pm. 199 Spur 100, off of Hwy 27E. 830-896-4653.

Louise Hays Park
The Guadalupe River flows through the park making a delightful natural pool. Located in the heart of downtown, the park's beautiful grounds and shaded picnic tables make it an ideal spot for a day's outing. A foot bridge crosses the river to Tranquility Island where cypress trees tower over gently sloping grassy banks. Public rest rooms available.
Admission is FREE. 7:30am-11pm. Enter from Thompson Drive west of Sidney Baker South

Family Sports Center
A fun facility for the whole family. Enjoy swimming, a game of racquetball or bowling. 1107 Junction Hwy. 830-895-5555

Plaza Theater
Enjoy a night at the movies at Kerrville's six screen Plaza Theater. 110 Plaza Drive, 830-895-4242. September thru May : Monday-Friday 3pm-9:30pm, Saturday & Sunday

Stonehenge II
A very unusual structure built to replicate the original Stonehenge in England.  This replica of Stonehenge shares the land with replicas of Easter-Island statues as well. Visitors can park along the road and walk among these amazing works. On FM 1340 between Hunt and Mo-Ranch.

Shonto Ranch
Shonto Ranch offers a unique Texas adventure with their hunting, fishing and camera tours. Over 1,000 acres with white tail deer and exotics. Fish for largemouth bass, catfish, perch and rainbow trout. Call to set up your tour, 830-257-5982.

Hill Country Shooting Sports Center
A full service range just outside of Kerrville. The range offers 5 skeet fields, 5 trap fields, 5 bunker trap fields, a 100 yard rifle range and pistol range. A clubhouse and pro-shop are also located on site. Call or visit their website for hours. 1886 Cypress Creek Rd. 830-995-4504

Ingram Lake and Dam
An ideal place to sail, ski or swim. The setting is terrific, and refreshments are available nearby. Hwy. 39 toward Hunt.

Lost Maples State Natural Area
Nestled in the Hill Country, only 1 ½ hours southwest of Kerrville, the park is a combination of rugged limestone canyons, plateau grasslands, wooded slopes and clear streams. The only maple forest in Texas is located in this 2,174-acre park. 20 picnic sites, 30 campsites with water and electricity, eight designated primitive camping areas accessible to hikers.
